Born in Palma de Mallorca, Joan Mir became a main protagonist of the FIM CEV Repsol Moto3 Junior World Championship with the Leopard Racing team in 2015, battling for the title till the final race. During this time he also made his World Championship debut in Phillip Island, fighting inside the top ten before an unfortunate crash. Last season he entered the World Championship and won the Rookie of the Year trophy, in 2017 the Leopard Racing team expect big things from the young Spaniard.

Born in Belgium, he started racing in 2006 in the Junior Pocketbike Championships. His career progressed rapidly in the Red Bull Rookies Cup and the Spanish CEV Championship. In 2013 he lined up for the newly formed Moto3 class and in 2015 he took a sensational win in Indianapolis, having gambled with slick tyres on a drying track. Loi showed flashes of speed and he joins Leopard Racing Team in 2017.
