moto3 / Leopard duo complete last private test in Jerez

In the last private test before next week’s official IRTA tests, the Leopard Racing riders were pleased with the competitiveness of their Honda machines.

After the adverse weather conditions last week (which forced the riders to stay in the pits), the Leopard Racing team returned to the Circuito de Jerez for a single private test day.

Mild temperatures without wind accompanied the Leopard Racing Team, kissed by the Andalusia sun, allowing Spaniard Joan Mir and Belgian Livio Loi to take advantage of all the scheduled time. The test ran at full speed from 10:00 to 18:00.

The team moved to try and refine the Honda NSF250RW and improve the performance of both riders. Their crews found an effective setting for the circuit which provides a good base for many tracks during the Championship.

Teammates Joan Mir and Livio Loi completed 69 and 85 laps respectively. The circuit of Jerez de la Frontera will host the 2017 IRTA test staged next week (March 8-9-10).

#11 Livio LOI (85 laps):
“We made big steps forward today, testing from the first session in the morning until late afternoon. We run during all day long, always keeping a strong and steady pace. I’m especially satisfied with the entryways in the fast corners, but we can still improve. I want to thank the whole team, I can’t wait to arrive here again in Jerez next week, for the IRTA test.”

#36 Joan MIR (69 laps):
“It was been a very positive day, we did not focused on a specific detail, but we worked on the whole bike setup. Considering today was the third time ever for me on the Honda machine, I’m very happy because we improved a lot. Now we hope to continue in this direction, I’m sure next week in the IRTA test we can make another step forward. Thanks to my team for the good job done together.”
