cycling news / Leopard Pro Cycling invited for Deutschland Tour
Today, Leopard Pro Cycling received some great news from the ASO. The Luxembourgish UCI Continental Team has been invited for the Deutschland Tour (UCI 2.1) which takes place from the 23rd to the 26th of August.
Deutschland Tour returns after ten years
By inviting Leopard Pro Cycling, the race organizer acknowledges the great season the team is having so far. At the Deutschland Tour, Leopard will be at the start line next to the strongest teams around, since the race will host no less than eleven World Tour and six Pro Continental teams. The Deutschland Tour takes place in the southwest of Germany, covers a total of 740 kilometers and crosses five Bundesländer. Starting in Koblenz and finishing in Stuttgart, the riders will take on a varied route in which both sprinters and attackers will have opportunities for success. Also Leopard Pro Cycling sees plenty of chances to show themselves to a big crowd.
Markus Zingen, Team Manager: “We are very happy and feel honoured to be selected for the Deutschland Tour. We already have a very successful season so far, and this race will be another highlight in which we are looking forward to show active racing on the German roads. Even if we are a Luxembourgish UCI Continental Team with an international roster, we have some strong German influences amongst our riders, staff and team management, who are all looking forward to be part of the event. Furthermore, the stages with the finishes in Trier and Merzig are not far away from Luxembourg, so we hope to see many Luxembourgish fans on the road.”
