moto3 / Mir & Loi out to conquer San Marino

The two Leopard Racing team riders head for the Misano World Circuit.

Silverstone is now in the rear view mirror as the 2017 calendar continues to speed ahead. This weekend we travel to theGran Premio di San Marino e della Riviera di Rimini. The Misano World Circuit (named after Marco Simoncelli) will be the backdrop to the event that has hosted MotoGP uninterruptedly since the 2007 season. This is the 21st event on the 4.2 km track, now run clockwise after beginning life as a counter clockwise track, alternating between 6 left and 10 right corners.

The team, led by Christian Lundberg, is preparing for another battle, confident of the potential of the Livio Loi and Joan Mir duo. In 2016 both ended well within the points. The Belgian was fighting for the top ten, while the Majorcan performed one of his most exciting races from 15th position on the grid to the third step of the podium, in perfect “MiracleMir” style.

The aim of the Palma de Mallorca talent is to continue his perfect points run. Thanks to Silverstone’s 5th place, Joan Mir managed to keep the 64-point lead over his rivals in the world standing. The Gran Premio di San Marino e della Riviera di Rimini also represents the opportunity for Livio Loi to continue the positive trend of the last two rounds and to conclude in the best way this second part of the season.
