moto2 / MotorLand Aragon leaves a bitter taste
With Miguel Oliveira injured, his teammate Danny Kent had a difficult weekend, finishing out of the points.
A bitter weekend for the Leopard Racing team in the intermediate Moto2 class. The Gran Premio Movistar de Aragon began badly with the accident involving Miguel Oliveira in FP1 on Friday morning where the Portuguese riders suffered a fracture of the right clavicle.
The other bearer Danny Kent found himself alone to combat but with a lack of feeling (as emphasized yesterday in qualifying) with his Kalex. The Brit hoped to make it up in the race but on lap five was forced to pit due to the abnormal pressure in his tyres. Re-joining the race but with one lap down, has honoured his commitment to finishing the race.
Now the Leopard Racing team will depart for Asia for the triplet of races that will start with the weekend 14-16 October 2016 with the Grand Prix of Japan.
#52 Danny KENT – 29th:
“It’s been a bad weekend and hopefully our luck turns around. There’s not much I can do as the issue was out of my hands. It’s frustrating sure but we can start working for next year soon. I felt better with the bike this morning and I think we had a good chance to score points but with the problem it was impossible. It was good to go back out there and get into the rhythm a bit, just to check everything over.”
