cycling news / Next up for Leopard: Zuidenveld Tour & Rund um Düren

WITH 100% MOTIVATION, LEOPARD PRO CYCLING WILL BE COMPETING AT TWO RACES THIS WEEKEND. IN THE ZUIDENVELD TOUR IN HOLLAND, SOME COBBLED SECTIONS WILL BE SERVED. ONE DAY LATER, THE TEAM STARTS AT RUND UM DÜREN, WON BY JAN BROCKHOFF IN 2016

ROSTER Zuidenveld Tour: Jan Brockhoff, Pit Leyder, Gaëtan Pons, Charlie Quarterman, Jens Reynders & Mario Spengler – DS: Markus Zingen

Leopard Pro Cycling will be heading up north for the Zuidenveld Tour in Holland. With the race being almost 200 kilometers  long and containing seven cobbled sections, one can expect a difficult race, especially if also the wind decides to play its part. It is no surprise that riders that are now professionals, battled for the victory in recent years. Starting in Dalen, the race takes the riders through the scenery of the Drenthe region on a route that shows some similarities with the Ronde van Drenthe. After 165 kilometers, the race will pass the finish line for the first time, after which two local laps of 17,8 kilometers each are the setting for what is to be expected a fast final. Leopard Pro Cycling has different card to play at the Zuidenveld Tour, for example the card of Belgian Jens Reynders, who is in a good shape.

Jens Reynders: “I hope that the race will be a hard and difficult one, as I then have the best chance for a good result like a top ten. Riding over cobblestones is one of my strenghts, so the route – with hopefully some wind – is to my liking. I am not yet happy with my season so far, although I already have two victories. Still, I expect more, I want to be present  in the finals of the bigger races and decide the summary of the race. I hope to achieve some very good results in May and June.

ROSTER Rund um Düren: Jan Brockhoff, Alexander Krieger, Gaëtan Pons, Szymon Rekita, Mario Spengler & Luc Wirtgen – DS: Markus Zingen

One day after the Zuidenveld Tour, the Leopard Pro Cycling team will be at the start of Rund um Düren, a German Bundesliga race. In 2016, Jan Brockhoff was able to take a solo win after a late attack in the final. Last year, Konrad Gessner – riding for his previous Rad-Net Rose team – sprinted to second place. These facts make for high expectations for the team, having a strong roster at the start, with Alexander Krieger who returns back to racing after seat problems. Starting at 13h15, the race takes the riders on a 152,4 kilometers long route through the Eifel region. Being in a hilly area, the altitude meters can play an huge role in the outcome of the race. For Leopard Pro Cycling, the team can again play a role in different race situations.
