moto2 / Oliveira & Kent arrive in Catalunya to keep improving
The Leopard Racing duo is determined to improve on their best results of the season in the intermediate class.
The World Championship circus arrives at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya on Friday the third till Sunday the fifth for round seven of the 2016 season. The Montmelo track, located about 30 Km from the city centre, is one of the longest on the MotoGP Calendar. Opened in 1991, it is divided into five left-handers and eight rights that alternate across the 4.7km of track, with a main straight of 1047 meters.
Montmelo evokes sweet memories for Danny Kent. In fact, in 2015 the 21 year old from Chippenham achieved a great victory after a front row start and beating Enea Bastianini and then teammate Efren Vazquez. This gave Leopard Racing a prestigious double podium and was an important race is his quest for the title.
Even his now teammate Miguel Oliveira has always performed well in the land of Catalonia, geographically close to his native home of Portugal. Last season he battled till the bitter end, sealing fifth place.
This year in the Moto2 class the battle is tighter than ever as the level of competition continues to rise. It’s a major challenge which the two Leopard Racing riders have every intention of over coming in order to once again close in on the top positions.
